  Murphy's pub is a dump that's avoided by anyone who knows the area. It turns into a pretty obnoxious dance club at night, eerily similar to some of the crappier places around faneuil hall.
  
  There are infinitely better places in Salem, including Village Tavern, Tavern on the Square, Victoria Station and more.
  
  If you...
  Like hearing drunk townies scream at each other, or
  Like watching over-served patrons get into fights as they stumble out of the bar...
  
  Then Murphy's is for you!
  
  Seriously. Just don't. There are better places to spend your money.

  If you are in Salem and looking for a strong drink, this is your place. It's one of the few places with a serious bar and great drinks. They also serve food but I didn't eat.

  The best french fries I have ever eaten. Simply perfect fries. The meals we ordered were also excellent. It was so good, we went back two more times on this vacation. The waitresses who served us the first two visits were excellent, and extremely friendly and attentive. The third time we were not so lucky, but I still give this restaurant a five star.

  We had a very nice dinner here on the outside patio. Just a really nice quaint location to eat right in the heart of Salem. The food was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
