  This artisanal bakery in downtown Salem is a favorite on the North Shore. It even published its own cookbook with a major publisher. Don't come here looking for decorated sheet cakes. The focus is on bread loaves, rolls, cookies, pastries, and specialty baked desserts. You can eat in or carry out, but it's always so crowded that I don't like to get a table there. Incidentally, the bakery is only a block from a fantastic wine & cheese shop so you're in foodie heaven. It's also a block from Red's Diner, another, much older Salem institution well worth checking out.

  Amazing! Delicious walnut cinnamon rolls...the best we've ever had! and the spiced pear turnover was to die for...sumptuous butter pastry and the perfect amount of filling. The coffee was perfect. Definitely will be back to try the other offerings.

  Delicious pastries and baked bread. Their coffee is delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
